The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) — Is National system that delivers individualised support to people with permanent and significant disabilities, as well as their families and carers.
The NDIS is managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and plays a central role in the broader National Disability Strategy. This strategy brings together government, community, and industry to ensure that people with disability are supported not only by dedicated services, but also through inclusive access to mainstream systems like healthcare, education, and transport.
The purpose of the NDIS is to empower Australians living with disability by providing reasonable and necessary supports that help them lead fulfilling, everyday lives. It promotes independence, choice, and active participation in the community.
The NDIS includes two key components:
NDIS participants work with their providers to create a plan that supports their goals. At Better Pride Home Care, we’re here to help you navigate the NDIS with confidence, ensuring you receive the supports you need to live life your way—with choice, control, and dignity.
Better Pride Home Care provides personalised in-home support to help individuals live comfortably and independently. Services include personal care, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and companionship—all delivered with dignity and respect by our qualified care workers.
Better Pride Home Care acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work – the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. As a care provider, we are committed to fostering equity, cultural understanding, and reconciliation.
